News update # 7
Research conducted by the Retailers Against Smuggling pressure group says 36% of retailers had considered reducing staff and 38% had considered closing shop after losing revenue to illegal tobacco peddlers. Also, approximately 40% had been offered to purchase illegal and fake cigarettes for their business. In the U.K cigarettes are smuggled in from Latvia (cigarettes cost a fraction of the price they do in the U.K); similarly illegal tobacco products are smuggled in to the U.S from Mexico. The sell of illegal cigarettes has sky rocketed in the last few years in response to high taxation.

The word "pistol" is derived from the Frenchy word pistole (or pistolet), which may have any of these origins:
1. From the Czech
pistole and derived from the Czech word píšťala (flute or pipe!!, referencing the shape of a Hussite firearm
).
2. From the city of Pistoia, Italy.

3. Early pistols were carried by cavalrymen in holsters, which were hung from the pommel (or pistallo in medievil French) of the horse's saddle.
